Music fans planning to attend Friday night's concert at the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa will have to make other plans after organizers announced the show has been canceled due to expected weather conditions.

The concert, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, was set to feature Gov't Mule and Ziggy Marley, along with Larkin Poe and a DJ set by Yola.

Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater announced the cancellation Thursday, citing the weather forecast and concerns about the safety of everyone involved in the outdoor event.

"The safety of our fans, artists, staff and crew is our top priority," the venue said in its announcement.

The cancellation also means ticket holders will be eligible for refunds, although the process will depend on where their tickets were originally purchased.

Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will automatically receive a refund to their original payment method. No additional action is required for those purchases.

However, customers who purchased tickets directly from the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater Box Office will need to request their refunds in person.

The box office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The canceled performance was part of the amphitheater's Coca-Cola Concert Series, bringing together several nationally recognized musical acts for an evening of live entertainment in downtown Tuscaloosa.

Organizers have not announced a replacement date for the concert, and the event is currently listed as canceled rather than postponed.

Ticket holders are encouraged to follow official Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater communications for any additional information regarding refunds or future performances.

The cancellation comes as weather concerns affect outdoor events and activities scheduled across the region.
