Alabama Verizon Customers to Receive Credits After Major Outage
Verizon Wireless made headlines this week due to large scale outages their customers unexpectedly experienced.
"We are sorry for what you experienced and will continue to work hard day and night to provide the outstanding network and service that people expect from Verizon," a statement from the company read in the aftermath of their large scale outage.
Verizon customers were without service Wednesday for reasons unknown. Reports stated that the outage lasted for around 10 hours and impacted hundreds of thousands of people.
By now, Verizon's service should be restored and the company released a statement on their plans to make it right with customers.
"Today, we let many of our customers down and for that, we are truly sorry. They expect more from us," Verizon said in a statement Wednesday evening. Just over an hour later, Verizon released a statement saying the issue has been resolved. There still has been no word on the cause of this outrage.
Thursday morning Verizon released a statement explaining how they plan on making the situation right with affected customers.
"Yesterday, we did not meet the standard of excellence our customers expect and that we expect of ourselves," Verizon said in the statement.
"To help provide some relief to those affected, we will give them a $20 account credit that can be easily redeemed by logging into the myVerizon app to accept. On average, this covers multiple days of service. Our business customers will be contacted directly about their credits."
