Worlds of Work Celebrates 10 Years in West Alabama

One of West Alabama’s largest career exploration events is preparing to celebrate a major milestone this fall.

Sponsor and exhibitor registration is now open for Worlds of Work 2026, also known as WOW, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary when it returns Oct. 14-15 to Shelton State Community College’s Martin Campus.

More than 4,000 students participate in the hands-on career experience each year, getting an opportunity to explore jobs and industries available right here in West Alabama.

Unlike a traditional career fair, businesses and organizations create interactive experiences that allow students to see, touch and experience different careers while talking directly with professionals working in those fields.

This year, organizers are inviting businesses and organizations to participate as sponsors and exhibitors.

“As we celebrate 10 years of WOW, we are grateful for the employers, sponsors and community partners who have helped make this experience possible and look forward to another year of connecting students with opportunities throughout West Alabama,” said NaTa’sha D. Black, Senior Director of Workforce and Lead Modern Manufacturing Project Manager.

Businesses interested in exhibiting are encouraged to register by Aug. 17 to be included in the printed WOW 2026 event book. Registration will remain open after the deadline, but late exhibitors may not appear in the printed materials.

WOW was launched in 2015 by West Alabama Works and The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. Since then, the program has grown into a nationally recognized workforce development model, connecting thousands of students with potential career paths while strengthening relationships between schools and local employers.
