Alabama Women Speak Out And Could Call For Wife/Mother Shutdown
Earlier today in Tuscaloosa, I was present and witnessed a breakdown of sorts, followed by a parade of women who had had enough and could walk off the job at midnight Central Time.
As a reporter, I have covered dozens of strikes, walkouts, and shutdowns, but this appears to be one that could have a lasting impact on West Alabama and the entire state of Alabama.
It began earlier this summer when I visited with a local group of women who were in a kind of deep depression that had progressively grown worse and more severe.
One of the women I spoke with works a full-time job, has three children under the age of 10, and a husband who also works, yet often refuses to be of assistance in evening hours.
That woman told me in an exclusive interview that she was “not happy with her husband and had met a man at her job who was increasingly growing on her and seemed to be the complete opposite of her husband in terms of helping her in the process of taking care of the children and the other duties that were part of life in the evening at home”.
Now, that woman has filed for a legal separation from her husband and sees no sign of his attitude and willingness to be a true partner and helper changing in the last thirty days.
A divorce filing is possible in the near future.
That story is all part of the breakdown that occurred on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa around 4:30 pm this afternoon.
Local celebrity and afternoon radio host on 101.7 The River, Holli Mack, was the first to speak out against the key issues facing women in Alabama, as well as across America.

Mack broke down live on the “Late Afternoon Show with DC, Holli & Scott” and proceeded to call out the "fake, unrealistic, and sickening false life story being portrayed on social media platforms by moms and wives who are afraid of being exposed and being 100% real".
Mack went on to describe how she would feel if she were able to be real in front of people, even if it wasn’t pretty.
She posted her thoughts on her personal Facebook page, see below:
Dozens of other women in Alabama phoned the radio show or sent text messages, along with messages on Mack’s personal social media account, agreeing with her that being honest and authentic is essential in 2025.
I spoke with at least 10 women residing in West Alabama, who expressed their sincere adoration for Holli’s honesty as well as their desperation for husbands who are willing to help her with raising their children in the mornings, afternoons, or evenings.
Two women told me that it has now begun to really anger them to work around the house for hours on end while their husbands “sit on their rear-ends on the sofa or recliner and watch tv or look at their phone while I’m making dinner for everyone, doing laundry, homework and every single thing that comes with having a family and being an adult”!
The evidence clearly shows that women in Alabama desperately need more support from their partners and, quite possibly, really deserve a night off while their husbands take over their regular workload.
Several women told me that they would like a night at a hotel in the area completely by themselves.
Alabama wives and mothers are not even getting a day off for “Mother’s Day,” and they are desperately seeking a vacation holiday such as “Mom’s Choice/Lazy Day” for one or two days out of the year.
In my research, I have found conclusive evidence that husbands, fathers, and boyfriends need to get off their butt and help the woman in their life before they face a critical shutdown from that very woman they are living with in their home.
