Northport Gets Ready For River Run Grand Opening

The city of Northport is preparing for the much-anticipated grand opening this month of a new sports complex.

The sports complex features nine turf baseball fields built to bring big tournaments into the Northport area.

August 16th is the day for the grand opening at River Run Park, located at 300 River Run Park in Northport.

The schedule for the Saturday, Aug. 16, celebration looks like this:

9:00 am Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

9:30 am  UA Baseball Meet & Greet/Prep Baseball Skills Assessment/Live DJ

9:45 am  Pepsi Ball Catch

10:30 am  Warrior Baseball and Northport Fastpitch Games

6:00 pm  Pepsi Ball Catch/Live Band

6:30 pm  Warrior Baseball Blue vs. White Game

8:30 pm  Fireworks & Drone Show

The grand opening of River Run Park will also feature multiple food trucks, a kids zone, and vendors.

In addition, radio stations from Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa will be broadcasting live during the grand opening festivities.
