Wives, mothers, providers, and in many cases, handling all those jobs and more without much support.
Edie Hand is the founder of Women of True Grit here in Alabama.
Hand has spent years finding and honoring women in our area who have survived and conquered the most challenging circumstances.
Women who have endured things that are hard to imagine and have come out on the other side victorious.
The founder, Edie Hand, has survived cancer four times. That's right. She BEAT cancer four times thanks to her faith in God and that grit it takes to live another day.
We'll be featuring these amazing women online here and on the radio stations of Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa.

Edie has had a fascinating life that we will be delving into more in future profiles of these amazing women.
At one time, Edie travelled from Alabama to New York for work as an actress on the hit CBS television show, As The World Turns, as well as other projects.
In fact, her son, Linc, is a working, successful actor in Hollywood, appearing in over 70 films and TV series during his career.
Linc has even co-starred with Harrison Ford in movies and has been a regular on NCIS: Hawaii on CBS.
Edie has been a true survivor and a woman of true grit, looking to shine the light on all the other amazing women of true grit in Alabama.
